Create a Vision Page for the Year Ahead

Create a Vision Page for the Year Ahead
本文重點
  • A vision page captures how you want your year to feel.
  • Start with feelings and themes before specific goals.
  • Choose a few words or phrases that sum up your direction.
  • Add one small first step for each theme.
  • Keep the page where you will see it often.

To create a vision page for the year ahead, picture how you want life to feel, choose a few guiding words, add one small first step for each theme and keep the page where you will see it. A clear picture of where you are heading makes daily choices easier.

Start with how you want to feel

Before thinking about achievements, ask: how do I want this year to feel? Calm, adventurous, connected, confident? Write a few sentences describing an ordinary good day a year from now. Where are you? Who is with you? What does the morning look like? This becomes the heart of your page.

Choose a few themes

Read what you wrote and look for themes: health, work, home, creativity, relationships, learning. Choose three or four. Too many themes blur the picture. For a wider reflection on the life you want, see What a Dream Lifestyle Brand Means.

Find your guiding words

Pick a word or short phrase for the year, such as “steady,” “open doors” or “make space.” Write it large at the top of the page. When you face a decision, ask whether it fits your word. It is a simple but surprisingly powerful compass.

Add a first step for each theme

A vision becomes real through small actions. Under each theme, write one step you can take this month: book a class, clear a corner for a desk, call a friend you miss. When a step is done, add the next. Dreams in Progress: Goals You Can Keep explains how to turn steps into lasting goals.

Make it beautiful

Use colors you love, a pressed leaf, a favorite quote or a small sketch. The page should make you want to look at it. Keep it near the front of your planner, or mark it so you can find it in a second.

Revisit each season

Every few months, read your vision page again. What has moved? What no longer fits? Update it freely. Ideas that are not right for now can move to Keep a Someday List Without the Guilt, ready for a later chapter.
